"A burst of convection"

The National Hurricane Centre called it just 'a burst of convection' but that 'blob' on the satellite images gave us a night of torrential rain and a tremendous, violent thunderstorm that's still going on....

I got up in the night and tried to photograph the lightening crashing into the sea, but I couldn't get it. Drat.

Thanks, Steve. Just checked satellite on you folks and all I could see was the bright orange! Hearing businesses are closed/ closing, figured the heavens were dumping yet again on the island. Being miles away in CA USA, I'm grateful to be able to catch what's happening via your site. Hoping buoyant spirits continue-- going to be quite a celebration when this season is done, eh! Be well.
