Hurricane Dean aftermath in Dominica
A quick post because power is still off. Hurricane Dean really took a good whack at us; I took a quick trip into Roseau earlier today and was astonished by what I saw; lots of big trees felled (and lots of people walking around with breadfruit under their arms!), and the evidence that the Roseau river was a raging torrent. At last though the sun is out. All we need now is electricity...!

Glad to hear you made it through ok. We've been reading your blog over the past few days as we followed the progress of Dean. We were interested as we're visiting Dominica next month and wanted to get a better picture of what goes on there - didn't expect a serious hurricane though! We'll be staying at D'Auchamps cottages on Mrs Honychurch's estate - is that anywhere near you?
Best wishes
